How to Pronounce: Analyses, Unanswered and Debt.

How to improve English pronunciation: Due to the global crisis of COVID-19, I have set out to help business professionals in pronouncing some of the toughest words often used to describe the pandemic. Many are advanced speakers, but they are often unable to pronounce keywords in the areas of expertise and research. For me, this is critical for global understanding, especially as we communicate more and more by video conference and the need to speak clearly for our listeners is extremely important.

This is the third video of three where I will teach you how to pronounce tricky words related to the global crisis. In this video, you will learn to pronounce the words analyses,  unanswered, and debt. Yes! The pronunciation of English vowels, silent consonants and word stress can be a challenge.

Time Stamps are below

0:16 analyses

1:07 unanswered

1:51 debt

To see the first video where I teach you how to pronounce the words economic, crisis, health, and disease, click here. To see the second video where I teach you how to pronounce the words headaches, coughs, breathing, throat, and blood, click here

Not only is knowing how to pronounce English words correctly empowering, but it also means your listeners understand you first time and they can focus on your messages and not on understanding your words. Accent reduction is not necessary, but clarity of speech is.

Hi, my name's Melanie Hussell. And here is the last of my three videos on how to pronounce some keywords used to describe our current global crisis. Let's turn to the text and the words highlighted in color today.

We're going to look at three words, the first word analyses. How many syllables in this word? A - nal - y - ses. Four syllables. Now let's look at the sounds in those syllables. First syllable, uh, it's the unstressed vowel as in the first letter of about. Second syllable, n, a, le, nal. Third syllable, unstressed vowel again, a. Fourth syllable, ss, ee - z. Let's put that word together. A - nal - y - ses. Where's the stress in this word? A - nal - y - ses. It's on the second syllable.

Today's second word is unanswered. How many syllables in this word? Un - an - swered. Three syllables. Let's have a look at the sounds. Uh, short vowel. Nn. Then long vowel, ah, nn, an. Let's have a look at the third syllable. Ss, silent w followed by, uh, the unstressed vowel (d) de, swered. Let's put this word together un - an - swered. Where is the stress in this word? Un - an - swered. It's on the second syllable.

And here's the final word of today? Debt one syllable. There's a silent consonant debt. It's the "B".

And here is the text in its entirety. We're currently facing a global economic and health crisis where the disease COVID-19 is causing many people to suffer from headaches, coughs, and extreme breathing difficulties. Detection can evolve a throat swab or a blood test, despite numerous analyses, many questions remain unanswered and world debt is rising fast.
