5 Week minimum FREE Pronunciation Programme on Zoom
Starting on Tuesday 7th April I will be running FREE weekly 30-minute pronunciation sessions every Tuesday from 12.00 - 12.30 for the duration of the Belgian COVID-19 quarantine. My goal is to make the most of this difficult situation, share with you one of my passions and bring our learning community closer together.
I’ll begin with an awareness of our ‘articulators‘ – the mouthparts we use to make different sounds. Then, as a group, we’ll travel through the consonants, gaining an understanding of ‘stop’ and ‘friction’, as well as voiced and unvoiced consonants. I‘ll also highlight the many silent consonants hidden in our language.
Next, we look at the vowels, focusing on the difference between short and long vowels, and how we pronounce some spellings (for example ‘ou’ or ‘ough’) in a multitude of ways. During this programme I will focus on common errors made by Belgians and other Europeans where English is not their native language.
Depending on our progress, we will look at word stress.
Our sessions will be vocal and interactive as we will practice sounds and repeat words, in both a a group and in pairs. So it’ll be noisy.
If this is something you or your colleagues would be interested in, please fill out this form and you will receive a Zoom invitation to our training sessions.
Come and have some collaborative fun while learning!
Stay safe!
